Confirmation at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish
WHO? Youth entering the 9th grade are eligible to enroll in the first year of Confirmation.
WHAT? Confirmation is a two-year faith formation journey centered around small group discipleship led by adult volunteers and peer leaders. Youth candidates commit to regular session attendance, yearly retreat experiences, service projects, and active participation in the Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass.
WHEN? Sessions are held Sunday afternoons from 3:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., which includes Sunday Mass (beginning at 5:00 p.m.) for youth and their families.
WHERE? Youth meet in Mulcahy Center on the OLA Church campus at 3175 Telegraph Rd. in Ventura, CA.
COST? The annual registration fee is $350 and includes the cost of yearly retreats.
Sessions will be held in-person. A tentative list of dates follows.

A copy of the teen’s baptism certificate must be provided to the Youth Ministry Office.

March 30 — Discovering Jesus in the Sacraments April 13 — Discovering Jesus in the Mass May 4 — Baptism and the Family of God June 1 — Parents attend with teen for their own Catechetical Lesson led by Clergy — The Sacrament of Confirmation A copy of the teen’s baptism certificate must be given to the Youth Ministry Office.

March 23 – Dignity of Work April 5 – Confirmation Interviews: 1-3 pm April 6 – Parents attend with teen for their own Catechetical Lesson led by Clergy– Solidarity April 27 – Care for God’s Creation May 18 – Tools of Holiness TBD – Year 2 Day Retreat with Sponsor: 9 am to 4 pm – Mulcahy Center TBD– Confirmation Day 5:00 pm Sunday Mass To be Confirmed, the Youth Ministry Office must have a copy of each teen’s baptism certificate. In addition, the teen must complete a Saint Name Report and Sponsor Contact Information form. Teens do a service project with their sponsors on their own and turn in a reflection on the service.
