What is Children's Liturgy of the Word?

In Children's Liturgy of the Word, children are dismissed to a separate sacred space where they hear the readings in a Children's translation. The Catechist will help them connect to the readings in a way that they can relate to as children.

When is Children's Liturgy of the Word offered?

Every 9:30am Sunday Mass has CLW dismissal (with some exceptions for Christmas, Easter, and Religious Education Congress weekend). The 12:30pm Spanish Mass also offers Children's Liturgy of the Word.

Who is welcome to attend?

The message is tailored to grades 1-5. If a parent would like to attend with their younger child, you are welcome to come and sit with your child.

When will my child return to the Church?

Children return at the time of the offering of the gifts. They follow the bread and wine offerings as we celebrate them as a gift to our Parish. Children can either return to their seats or join around the altar for an up-close experience with Jesus at the time when the bread and wine are changed into the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. If parents would like to join their child on the altar, you are most welcome.

Is my child safe?

All of our volunteers are fingerprinted and VIRTUS trained. The sacred space is surrounded by a locked gate. Parents are welcome to join anytime. If the gate is locked, the security guard can let you in.



Restroom use:

Please have your child use the restroom prior to dismissal to Children's Liturgy of the Word. There is an emergency restroom for unexpected urgencies.
