Stewardship

Stewardship of Time

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances…” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

God gives each of us 24 hours in a day and 168 hours in a week. While we all have a different number of days on this earth, time remains our most valuable commodity. It is up to each of us to effectively manage our time to bring glory and honor to God through the lives we lead.

Stewardship of Talent

“But the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and give His life for many.” Mark 10:45

What talents and skills has God blessed you with that can be shared with your community? What ministry seem interesting to you or something you would like to find out more about? Where is God calling you to share your talents?

Join us at the Ministry Expo to find out about the many groups and ministries at OLA. You can fill out an information card to receive more details about the ministry you are interested in or contact our Volunteer Coordinator, David DeVillers at ddevillers@ola-vta.org to help you get connected!

Stewardship of Treasure

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:21

We all have different levels of income and different material resources, but we are each called to return in thanksgiving to God a proportionate gift. We are not called to give the same gifts; rather we are called to share the same sacrifice.

For more simple ideas on how to use your Time, Talent & Treasure for God in your life, please stop by our Faith@Home center in the church or go to our website at www.olaventura.com. You will be able to find resources for children, teens, young adults, adults and more!

Stewardship: A Way of Life

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:8-10

Stewardship is using our TIME, TALENT, and TREASURE for God’s glory. At OLA we express our stewardship of time, talent, & treasure through our five PILLARS of:

Hospitality:
Acting as Christ the Shepherd, we are a community of faith that welcomes, honors, and involves every person in the life and work of the Church.

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. “ Hebrew 13:2

Prayer:
Acting as Christ the Priest, we focus on the Eucharist and each person through liturgy and prayer, strengthening our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“For in God our hearts rejoice, in God’s holy name we trust.”
Psalm 33: 21b

Education:
Acting as Christ the Teacher, we learn, teach, and develop households of faith, where our Catholic story and tradition is lived and shared with one another.

“…not by bread alone does man live, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord” Deut.8:3

Service:
Acting as Christ the Servant, we recognize & respond to the many needs of our world, community & our parish family.

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” 1 Peter 4:8-10

Evangelization:
Acting as Christ the Prophet, we go forth to share the Good News in all that we say and do.

“As the Father has sent me, so I send you” John 20:19-31
