Science, Theology and Religion: Friends in the Quest for Truth
A Unique and Exciting Lecture Series at St. John's Seminary
St. John's Seminary is presenting this outstanding eight part lecture series (January-May 2012) that is open to parish communities. Distinguished lecturers from around the country will cover physics, evolution, economics, chemistry, astronomy, apparitions and more as friends to theology and religion. Eight Thursdays 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo.

Women’s Retreat
March 23 to 25, 2012
"Courageous Love" is the title of our annual women's retreat March 23-25, 2012, to be held at Forest Home Retreat Center located in Oakview, CA.
Our Lady of the Assumption Women's Ministry invites parish women on a spiritual journey to discover God's amazing love for us, and our call to live out that love!
Retreat speaker Eileen Love, of Endow, will lead us through the weekend as we learn from the letter of Pope Benedict XVI, "Deus Caritas - God is Love" the true essence of God - LOVE - and what that means to us His beloved; created in His image.
Come and be refreshed and renewed in the spirit!
The weekend will include confessions, Mass and Adoration. Kelly Pease - talented musician, singer and worship leader, will lead us in songs of praise and prayer!
The retreat will begin on Friday evening, with check-in from 5:30 - 6:30 pm followed by dinner, and concludes Sunday morning with 11:00 Mass back at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. There will be ample time for quiet time and prayer, a walk, journaling and other activities.
Transportation is not provided. Meals and accommodations are included. Please register as soon as possible (preferably by 3-1-2012) as space is limited.

Adult Confirmation Classes

Adult Confirmation classes will begin on Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 6:30PM in the new conference room of the Parish House. The meetings will be one and a half hours in length and will be held every Tuesday evening until May 15. 2012. This class is for those individuals who are at least 18 years of age and have yet to complete their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The space in the class is limited and first priority will be given to registered members of OLA Parish. Each candidate will be required to complete an interview prior to being enrolled in the class (Please note interviews will being in mid-March).
